UP Cong holds health camps, seminar
LUCKNOW, March 16 -- Uttar Pradesh Congress on Sunday organised health camps across the state and a seminar at the party office in Lucknow to mark BSP founder Kanshi Ram's 92nd birth anniversary. A health camp held at Kanshi Ram Colony in Dubagga here was inaugurated by state Congress president Ajay Rai.
"Kanshi Ram devoted his life to the poor and the marginalised. The true tribute to him is to help the deprived," Rai said on the occasion. Two days ago, UP Congress had organised 'Samajik Parivartan Diwas' to mark Kanshi Ram's birth anniversary in Lucknow, which Rahul Gandhi addressed.
During a seminar at the party office, Congress leaders and workers recalled Kanshi Ram's life, struggles and contributions towards social justice. Tanuj Punia, president of the party's Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste cell and MP from Barabanki, said that Kanshi Ram performed the historic task of organising the deprived, exploited, and Dalit sections of society.
Punia further said that Kanshi Ram's life stands as a symbol of struggle, equality and dedication to social justice. During the event, Congress spokesperson Amarnath Paswan shed light on Kanshi Ram's philosophy of life.
"He played a pivotal role in raising awareness among the Bahujan community regarding their rights and in ensuring their participation in mainstream politics. Kanshi Ram's thoughts and principles continue to provide guidance in the pursuit of social justice and equality," Paswan said.
Another Congress spokesperson Manish Hindvi observed that Kanshi Ram's entire life was dedicated to social change and upholding the rights of the Bahujan community....
