PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 16 -- The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) is set to extend the deadline for finalising examination centres for the 2027 high school and intermediate examinations after the state government extended the deadline for student registrations till September 30. The board has sent a proposal to the state government seeking a revision of the existing schedule for centre allocation, officials said. The government had on September 9 extended the last date for registration of Class 10 and 12 students till September 30. Since examination centres are allocated online based on the number of registered students, the extension in the registration deadline necessitated a corresponding change in the centre-allocation schedule. After the student strength is finalised on September 30, the board will begin the online process of allocating examination centres. The board was earlier scheduled to release the list of centres identified online on August 17. This was subsequently postponed to September 21. The online list is now expected to be released in the second week of October. The centre list will then go through various stages of scrutiny and objections before the final list is likely to be released in November. The final list was originally scheduled for September 18 and was later revised to October 29.
