UP begins trial run of portal for teachers
LUCKNOW, June 14 -- Ahead of the launch of the Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Yojana, the Uttar Pradesh government has started trial runs of an online portal that will enable eligible teachers and education department employees to avail cashless medical treatment of up to Rs.5 lakh annually.
The beta version of the portal, developed by the State Health Agency (SACHIS), is currently undergoing testing as the government prepares for the scheme's rollout.
Archana Verma, CEO of SACHIS, said the department is focusing on collecting and verifying beneficiary data to ensure smooth implementation. She said discrepancies in names, dates of birth, Aadhaar details and family information had delayed card issuance in several cases under similar processes in the past.
"Before the formal launch of the scheme, the department is collecting and error-freeing the data of eligible employees. In the past, the process of issuing cards was affected in many cases due to discrepancies in names, dates of birth, Aadhaar details, or family information in the records provided. As a result, applications remained pending. To address this issue, special emphasis has been placed on data sanitisation this time," Verma said. "After successful testing, the scheme will be formally launched," she added.
So far, data of more than 3.5 lakh eligible employees has been compiled, the press release stated.
"Accurate data will speed up the card issuance process and enable a larger number of beneficiaries to avail the scheme," Verma said.
The state government is expected to launch the Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Yojana soon....
