Union min Manjhi calls MSMEs drivers of growth
AGRA, June 21 -- Union MSME minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday called for stronger cooperation among BRICS nations to address challenges facing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including financing, technology adoption, sustainability and market access.
Addressing the inaugural BRICS MSME Forum 2026 in Agra, Manjhi said MSMEs are central to inclusive and sustainable economic development and can drive innovation, exports and employment.
"MSMEs are central to achieving inclusive and sustainable economic development. The challenges facing enterprises today whether related to financing, technology adoption, sustainability or market access require collaborative solutions. BRICS countries possess immense strengths and complementary capabilities. Through continued dialogue and cooperation, we can build a robust framework that empowers MSMEs to become drivers of innovation, exports and employment," he said.
Uttar Pradesh MSME minister Bhupendra Chaudhary spoke on the state's efforts to promote entrepreneurship, while Bharat Khera, Secretary, Ministry of MSME, discussed the role of MSMEs in building resilient economies. ASSOCHAM Secretary General Saurabh Sanyal presented recommendations from private-sector consultations among BRICS nations.
On Saturday, delegates attending the forum visited the Taj Mahal in two batches. Senior Conservation Assistant of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at the monument, Kalandar Vij, said around 50 delegates visited in the morning, while another group arrived later to avoid the heat.
A yoga session was also organised for BRICS representatives on the occasion of International Yoga Day....
