U.P. driving India's growth: Shivraj Chouhan
Gorakhpur, March 26 -- Union minister for rural development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Wednesday said that Uttar Pradesh is driving India's growth and has emerged as an "engine of the country's development."
He reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing pucca houses to every poor family.
Addressing a programme in Shongarwa village, in Gorakhpur, held to commemorate the anniversary of the late MLA and father of minister of state for rural development, Kamlesh Paswan, Chouhan said that no eligible beneficiary would be left out of housing schemes.
"The goal is that every poor person should have a permanent house and live with dignity," he said.
Highlighting rapid infrastructure expansion and welfare initiatives, Chouhan noted that living standards, particularly in rural areas, are improving significantly.
He said that housing, roads, and basic amenities are being extended to villages at a fast pace, boosting economic activity.
He added that the growth of Uttar Pradesh reflects the pace of national progress. He also emphasised that improvements in law and order, along with significant infrastructure development over the past nine years, have transformed the state....
