Two students drown while making reel in Ganga in Prayagraj
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 7 -- Two Class 10 students drowned in the swollen Ganga near Soham Ashram in Jhunsi on Sunday afternoon while allegedly making a reel on a mobile phone, police said. The teenagers had gone to the riverbank with a third classmate after attending coaching classes.
The deceased were identified as 16-year-old Rudra Pratap Singh, a resident of Awas Vikas Colony Yojna-3, Sector 10, and 15-year-old Aryan Vishwas of Katka. Their 16-year-old friend, Sumit Yadav, a resident of Chhatnag Devnagar, was with them when the incident occurred. Police said three students reached the Ganga near Soham Ashram after coaching. Rudra and Aryan entered the swollen river to bathe and make a reel, while Sumit stayed on the bank. Both drowned after slipping into deep water. Divers recovered their bodies after an hour. ACP Jhunsi Arun Parashar inspected the spot. Police urged youngsters to avoid entering the swollen river and making reels or attempting risky stunts near the water....
