Two more held in Rs.8.70-cr Guj bank theft case
Ahmedabad, May 26 -- Police in Ahmedabad on Monday confirmed two additional arrests in the case regarding the alleged theft of Rs.8.70 crore from a Bank of Baroda branch in the city on January 13.
"We have arrested the main accused and two others and recovered part of the stolen amount. Efforts are on to recover the remaining money," said Neeraj Badgujar, Joint Commissioner of Police, Sector-1, Ahmedabad City.
The two accomplices were identified as Zulfikar Ansari and Sultan Ansari, labourers engaged in loading and unloading work at the bank. Their role emerged during interrogation of the prime accused, 42-year-old Harisiddh Kadiyara, who was joint custodian at the RBI currency chest at the Gandhi Road branch.
