Two men killed as bike rams parked truck in Saharanpur
MEERUT, July 8 -- Two men from Moradabad were killed after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into the rear of a truck parked along the roadside on the Saharanpur-Muzaffarnagar State Highway in Talhedi Buzurg on Tuesday morning. The truck driver fled the scene with the vehicle soon after the accident, and police have launched a search to trace him.
The accident occurred at around 10 am when the two men were travelling towards Saharanpur on a motorcycle. As they reached near the bus stand at Talhedi Buzurg, the motorcycle reportedly went out of control and rammed into the rear portion of a truck parked on the roadside. The impact of the collision was so severe that both riders died on the spot.
Saharanpur police reached the scene after receiving information about the accident and began the identification process. During a search, officers recovered an Aadhaar card from one of the deceased, identifying him as Qamar Alam (25), a resident of Kundarki town in Moradabad district. The second victim was identified as Md Tayyab (26), also a resident of Kundarki, through a mobile phone found in his pocket.
The bodies were taken into police custody and the victims' families were informed about the accident.
Station house officer (SHO) Kapil Dev said both victims were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. He added that efforts are underway to trace the truck driver and identify the vehicle....
