Two men killed after speeding unidentified vehicle hits motorcycle
Meerut, July 9 -- Two motorcycle-borne youths were killed after being hit by a speeding unidentified vehicle on the Tanakpur Highway in the Neuria police station area of Pilibhit district. The driver fled the scene along with the vehicle, leaving the victims on the roadside till Wednesday morning.
According to police, Ranjeet Sonkar, 28, son of Rajendra and a resident of Sada village, and Arvind Rajput, 25, son of Om Prakash, had travelled to Neuria on Tuesday night for some work. They were returning to their village on the same motorcycle when an unidentified speeding vehicle rammed into them.
The impact of the collision was so severe that both men died on the spot. The driver fled immediately after the accident, taking the vehicle along.
At around 7:30 am on Wednesday, passersby spotted the bodies lying beside the road and informed the police.
Sub-inspector Manish Chaurasia and his team reached the spot, sent the bodies for post-mortem after completing legal formalities, and began an investigation. Deputy superintendent of police Natasha Goyal said CCTV footage is being examined to identify the vehicle....
