Two killed as car rams into bike in Pratapgarh
PRAYAGRAJ, March 20 -- Two youths were killed and another sustained serious injuries after a car rammed into a motorcycle on the Dhakwa Bypass along the Lucknow-Varanasi highway, under the Aspur Devsara police station limits, in Pratapgarh district, late on Wednesday night.
According to police, the victims have been identified as 17-year-old Shiva, son of Hanuman Prasad; 20-year-old Shyam, son of Pradeep Agrahari; and 18-year-old Sahil, son of Rakesh Soni-all residents of Koiripur in Sultanpur district.
The three were on a motorcycle when a car coming from the opposite direction rammed into them and fled the scene, police said. The impact left all three critically injured. Upon receiving information, police reached the site and rushed the victims to the Community Health Centre CHC), Amargarh. Doctors declared Shiva and Shyam dead on arrival, while Sahil was referred to a hospital in Jaunpur for advanced treatment, where he is currently admitted. The accident led to a temporary traffic jam on the bypass. Police later restored normal movement after removing the damaged vehicles with the help of a hydra crane. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for a post-mortem examination. Police said efforts are underway to trace the car involved in the accident using CCTV footage from the area. A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
A seven-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by a youth at a village under the Kokhraj Police station area of Kaushambi district on Wednesday evening. According to reports, the accused, identified as Jai Singh alias Golu, lured the child to an orchard outside the village by offering him sweets. He then allegedly committed the crime. When the child raised an alarm, he was brutally beaten by the accused, who later fled the scene leaving the victim seriously injured.
The injured child somehow reached home and narrated the incident to his family, leaving them in shock. The boy's mother said that he sustained severe injuries to his private parts and is currently undergoing treatment. Following the complaint, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. SHO Chandrabhushan Maurya said that the accused's father has been detained, while efforts are underway to apprehend the main accused....
