Two killed as car rams into bike in Hapur
Meerut, June 30 -- Two people were killed in a road accident on the Delhi-Lucknow Highway in Hapur district on Monday morning after a car rammed into their motorcycle from behind near the Nizampur underpass.
The victims, related to each other and identified as Devcharan alias Pintu, 40, son of Rajendra Singh, and Mamta, 38, were residents of Baharampur village under the Vijay Nagar police station area in Ghaziabad. They were reportedly travelling to take a holy dip in the Ganga when the accident occurred.
According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision was so severe that both riders were thrown off the motorcycle onto the road.
The car allegedly dragged the motorcycle along with the victims' bodies for nearly 100 metres.
The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination.
Police seized the car involved in the accident and took its driver into custody. According to the station house officer Manish Chauhan, the accused is being questioned to ascertain the circumstances that led to the fatal crash. htc...
