Meerut, June 30 -- Nearly six weeks after the murder of Naushad, the caretaker (Mutawalli) of Madina Mosque in Saharanpur, police on Monday claimed to have solved the high-profile case by detaining two juveniles. Investigators said the accused allegedly confessed to the crime during questioning and claimed they killed Naushad after being subjected to repeated sexual abuse. Police have also recovered the wooden stick allegedly used in the murder based on the juveniles' disclosure. Addressing a press conference at the Police Lines auditorium, SP City Vyom Bindal said that an FIR under charges of murder against unidentified persons was registered on May 16, following a complaint lodged by the victim's brother, Dilshad. According to the police, investigators pieced together evidence collected from the crime scene, intelligence received from informants, and information gathered during sustained questioning, eventually leading to the detention of two juveniles. During interrogation, the juveniles allegedly admitted to killing Naushad. The accused told police that they had previously worked for Naushad and alleged that he had repeatedly sexually abused them. Ultimately attacked him with a wooden stick, causing his death. Police said the weapon used in the crime-a wooden stick-was recovered at the instance of the juveniles. Legal proceedings are underway to produce both juvenile offenders before the Juvenile Justice Board. Blood was seen oozing from Naushad's nose, while injury marks were visible on his forehead. From the very beginning, Naushad's family had maintained that he had been murdered. They pointed to the blood-stained wooden stick recovered from the room, signs of a struggle inside the premises, and the unusual position in which the body was found as indications that the death was not accidental or natural....
