Bahraich, Sept. 20 -- The Katarniaghat Wildlife Division arrested Om Prakash, son of Kishunlal, and Rajesh Porwal, son of Manohar Lal, both from Sujauli police station area, for alleged chital poaching. Acting on information at 7 pm on September 18, officials cordoned off compartment 5A, Bichhiya Beat. One was caught in the forest and the other while fleeing on a motorcycle. Fresh chital (Axis axis) meat, four wire snares, a knife, and a bicycle were recovered. A case was registered under the Wildlife (Protection) Act. Produced before a magistrate on September 19, they were sent to judicial custody. DFO Apoorv Dixit said patrolling would continue....
