Rudrapur, Sept. 22 -- Polling for the Kichha and Sirolikalan municipal elections will be held on Tuesday as scheduled, while the counting and result declarations will be withheld following an order of the state high court, officials said on Monday. District election officer and Udham Singh Nagar district magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadauria said polling would be held from 8am to 5pm on Tuesday, while the counting of votes scheduled for September 24 would remain withheld in compliance with the court's order. "The state election commission has withheld counting of both municipalities, which was scheduled for Thursday, on the order of the Nainital high court. However, polling will take place on Tuesday," the district magistrate said. According to the district administration, Kichha has 20 wards and 52,240 voters, while Sirolikalan has four wards and 11,591 voters. The creation of Sirolikalan as a separate local body has been the subject of legal proceedings. A writ petition concerning the election remains pending before the high court....
