Haridwar, March 25 -- Two people have been booked for allegedly felling 71 mango trees illegally in an orchard in Manglaur, an official from the horticulture department said on Tuesday. According to the official, a complaint regarding the illegal logging near Abdul Kalam Chowk in Manglaur was received on Monday. A joint inspection by the horticulture and forest departments found that 71 mango trees had been cut without obtaining the required permissions. The accused have been identified as Ubaidur Rehman and Junai Akhtar, both residents of Bandartol in Haridwar district.
