Transport dept brings 39citizen services underauto-approval system
LUCKNOW, Aug. 1 -- The Uttar Pradesh transport department has brought 39 citizen services under an auto-approval system, enabling eligible applicants to avail themselves of key transport-related services online without having to visit Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), transport minister Dayashankar Singh announced on Friday.
The move is part of the department's Aadhaar-authenticated faceless services initiative, under which 52 online services are currently available. Of these, 27 services on the Sarathi portal and 12 on the Vahan portal now operate in auto-approval mode.
"Applications meeting the prescribed criteria will be automatically approved after Aadhaar authentication, ensuring time-bound delivery of services without human intervention," the minister said. "The initiative aims to make transport services simpler, faster and more transparent while reducing the need for physical visits to transport offices," he added.
The services covered under the new system include learner's licences, duplicate and renewal of driving licences, change of address or name in DLs, international driving permits, issuance of PSV badges, and endorsements for hill driving and hazardous material transport through the Sarathi portal.
On the Vahan portal, services such as duplicate registration certificates, change of address in registration certificates, transfer of ownership, no-objection certificates, permit-related applications, duplicate fitness certificates, and addition or termination of hypothecation have also been brought under the auto-approval framework.
The minister urged citizens to make greater use of the services to access government services from home.
