Trainer aircraft crash lands on under-construction highway
AGRA, June 30 -- A woman trainee pilot escaped with minor injuries after a trainer aircraft from a private aviation institute in Aligarh crash-landed on an under-construction highway in Kasganj on Monday afternoon, police said.
The incident took place around 4 pm behind the police lines in Kasganj. The aircraft, operated by Chetak Aviation Institute at Dhanipur in Aligarh, was being flown by trainee pilot Qayanat Khan, 25. The pilot brought the aircraft down on the under-construction highway, but it slipped off the roadside after landing.
Kasganj superintendent of police (SP) OP Singh said the trainee pilot was shifted to the district hospital, where she was treated for minor abrasions.
"The landing was made on an under-construction highway. A police team reached the spot immediately and the woman trainee pilot was taken to the district hospital in Kasganj. She is safe and has only a few abrasions. Teams from the aviation institute in Aligarh are on their way," Singh said.
Officials at the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in Aligarh said the technical reasons behind the incident would be examined by a team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which will conduct an inquiry....
