Traffic curbs across Lucknow from 6am today
LUCKNOW, March 21 -- Elaborate security and traffic arrangements are in place across the city for Eid-ul-Fitr, with restrictions and diversions on key routes from 6am till prayers conclude.
Major prayer locations include Aishbagh Eidgah, Teele Wali Masjid in Chowk, Asifi Masjid (Bara Imambada) and Jama Masjid in Thakurganj, where both Sunni and Shia communities will gather.
The Lucknow Police have deployed a large force with a deputy commissioner of police (DCP), five additional DCPs and 10 assistant commissioners of police (ACPs), overseeing arrangements on the ground.
They are supported by a strong presence of inspectors, sub-inspectors and constables. Teams from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), intelligence units and wireless staff have also been stationed at sensitive locations.
Women police personnel in plain clothes, anti-Romeo squads and Pink Patrol teams have been deployed, while emergency response teams will remain on alert throughout the day. Police officials said preparations were completed in advance through joint meetings, route planning and mock drills.
