LUCKNOW, Sept. 10 -- The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Corruption Organisation on Wednesday arrested three people in two separate bribery traps in Meerut and Moradabad, officials said. In Meerut, the organisation's Meerut unit arrested revenue inspector Dharampal Singh and his associate, identified as clerk Heeralal, for allegedly accepting Rs.30,000. The arrests followed a complaint by Dal Singh, who alleged the accused demanded money to measure his land in connection with proceedings under Section 24. The two were arrested at Sadar tehsil, officials said. In Moradabad, the agency arrested Subhash Chandra, a senior assistant-cum-peskar in the office of the Deputy Director of Consolidation, for allegedly accepting a Rs.50,000 bribe. The action followed a complaint by Omveer Singh, who alleged that money was being demanded for uploading an April 17, 2026 court order on the online court portal.
