Three labourers killed at under-construction site
Agra, May 4 -- Three labourers working at an under construction building in Trans-Yamuna area of Agra city were killed after the elevation of the second floor collapsed on Saturday.
A labourer had died about a month ago at this same site during construction and the work was stopped but resumed about a week ago with another contractor engaged.
The house is owned by Ravi Pratap who had purchased the property four months ago.
Contractor Munnalal along with labourers Ranjeet and Jagdish were working at second floor of the house on Saturday and went to newly constructed elevation on second floor but it collapsed seemingly due to weight killing Rajneet (35) on spot and injuring Munnalal (55) and Jagdish (55) who were rushed to hospital nearby but were shifted to emergency ward of SN Medical College and Hospital in Agra where they died during treatment.
Family members of the labourers gathered at the site and sought action against the owner for not ensuring required safety measures. Assistant commissioner of police Shesh Mani Upadhayaya pacified the angry family members. "The FIR will be lodged after we receive any complaint regarding the matter", he said....
