Varanasi, May 19 -- Three members of a family, including a couple and their 10-year-old son, were killed after a pickup truck rammed their motorcycle on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway in Azamgarh on Monday, police said. The deceased were identified as Santosh Vishwakarma ,38, his wife Gudiya ,36, and their son Riyansh ,10. According to police, the accident took place near Khiridiha village under the Atraulia police station area. Santosh, who lived in Mumbai and ran a furniture business, had returned to his village earlier this month for a wedding. The family had gone to Gorakhpur to visit relatives and was returning home on a motorcycle. Police said Santosh missed the exit at Gadanpur Interchange and continued further on the expressway. Near Point 68.9, a speeding pickup truck hit the motorcycle from behind. Santosh died on the spot after being thrown several feet away by the impact. Gudiya later died during treatment at a hospital in Atraulia, while Riyansh succumbed to injuries at the district hospital. Station house officer Devendra Nath Dubey said police had seized both vehicles and started further legal proceedings. Family members said Santosh's 12-year-old daughter Anushka is now the only surviving member of the family....
