MEERUT, May 11 -- A court in Bulandshahr sentenced three men to life imprisonment in a triple murder case from the Sikandrabad area dating back nearly 15 years. The court also imposed a fine of Rs.50,000 on each convict and ordered that Rs.1 lakh from the total amount be given to the victims' families as compensation. The verdict was delivered by the court of Additional Sessions Judge Dhirendra Kumar III in connection with the murders that took place in Jeetgarhi Majra Kanwara village under the Sikandrabad police station area in September 2011. The verdict was delivered on Saturday. According to Additional District Government Counsel Rajeev Kumar Malik, the case was registered on September 7, 2011, following a complaint filed by Ramkumar, son of Charan Singh and a resident of Jeetgarhi Majra Kanwara village. As per the prosecution, on the night of September 6, 2011, around 9 pm, Ramkumar was sitting with his brother Satveer Singh when two villagers, Satendra and Pradeep, arrived and called Satveer away with them. When Satveer did not return for a long time, Ramkumar began searching for him. During the search, family members said Satveer and another villager, Nityanand, were last seen with Mahaveer, Satendra, Vijay, and Pradeep. The next morning, when Satveer did not return home, villagers launched a search and found Hansraj's motorcycle near Nityanand's tube well. A short distance away in Hridaypur village, the bodies of Satveer, Nityanand, and Hansraj were found in a field. All three had severe injuries, indicating they were brutally assaulted before being killed. Investigators and prosecutors said the murders stemmed from an old rivalry connected to the 2001 murder case. According to the prosecution, the accused had longstanding enmity with the victims, while Hansraj was allegedly killed for witnessing the murders of Satveer and Nityanand.
