PRAYAGRAJ, March 10 -- The superintendent of police, Kaushambi has suspended Sirathu police outpost incharge and two police personnel after alleged negligence surfaced in the investigation of the murder of 70 year old farmer Babulal Saroj from Rampur Dhamawan village under Saini police station. The probe has now been handed over to DSP, Sirathu. Babulal Saroj was killed on Saturday evening while cutting grass in his field. According to the complaint lodged by his wife, Gulzara Devi, he was attacked with an axe and murdered by his grandson, Nitin Saroj. A case of murder has been registered against Nitin and his mother, Rukmini Devi. Both are currently absconding, and police teams are conducting raids to locate them. Their mobile phones have been switched off, making it difficult to trace their movements despite surveillance. Following initial inquiry, SP Rajesh Kumar suspended Sirathu outpost incharge Ajay Kumar Singh and beat constable Lokendra Kumar for showing carelessness in handling the case. The SP said further action will be taken after receiving the report of DSP Sirathu, Santosh Kumar, who is now leading the investigation. The victim's wife alleged that Nitin had earlier attempted to kill his grandfather and was pressuring the family to sell land to fund his demands. She claimed that repeated complaints were made to the police but no action was taken, which ultimately led to the tragic incident. The SP confirmed that the suspensions were linked to this failure of timely intervention. Police teams continue to search for the accused mother son duo, while senior officials promised strict action based on the findings of the ongoing inquiry....
