AGRA, July 20 -- Three men accused of looting and murdering a seer in Vrindavan on July 16 were arrested after an encounter in the forest area within Jaint police station limits in Mathura in the early hours of Sunday. Police also recovered Rs.30,000 in cash from their possession. According to a press statement released by the Mathura police media cell, the Jaint Police were investigating the July 16 robbery and murder of 42-year-old seer Sunil Tripathi, alias Sanatan Sharan, who had been living in Vrindavan for the past 15 years. His body was found in bushes, following which a case was registered at the Jaint police station on a complaint lodged by his family. A case was registered under section 103 (1) (murder) of BNS at Jaint police station of Mathura. Jaint police station in-charge Sonu Singh said electronic surveillance and investigation led police to three suspects hiding in the Kiki forest area under the police station limits. "When asked to surrender, the accused opened fire on the police. In the retaliatory firing, two of them-Siyaram (23) and Ravi (24)-were injured, while the third accused, Sachin (19), was arrested," he said....
