PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 27 -- : Police arrested three men on Wednesday for allegedly robbing a businessman of Rs 18 lakh after luring him with cheap gold. A joint team of Nawabganj police and the SOG/Surveillance Cell arrested Faisal, Sandeep Yadav and Nagar Gautam near an underpass on the Kanpur-Varanasi Highway. Police recovered Rs 11 lakh, a .315-bore country-made pistol, four cartridges, fake jewellery and two cars used in the crime. Kingpin Zubair Ahmed and Rajan Dubey are absconding. According to police, Ahmed had gained businessman Pankaj Kumar Agarwal's confidence by offering cheap gold. On August 19, he took Agarwal, carrying Rs 18 lakh, to an isolated spot near Bahariya. The accused allegedly threatened him with a pistol and fled with the cash. Police said the five-member gang used the same method to target businessmen. Ahmed allegedly posed as another victim to avoid suspicion. Police later added BNS Section 317(2) and Arms Act Sections 3/25. The DCP has announced a Rs 10,000 reward for the police team....
