Ten swine flu patients undergoing treatment at SSL Hosp, IMS-BHU
VARANASI, Sept. 1 -- Ten patients suffering from swine flu are undergoing treatment at Sir Sunderlal (SSL) Hospital, IMS-BHU. They are from adjoining districts, including three from Azamgarh.
The patients were admitted to the hospital on different dates last week, said hospital officials.
They also stated that the patients had high fever, headache and body aches. Officials tested their samples via RT-PCR at the SSL Hospital microbiology lab. After testing positive, they were admitted and treatment began.
Sir Sunderlal Hospital medical superintendent, prof Puneet Kumar said ten swine flu patients were currently undergoing treatment at SSL Hospital. A joint team of doctors from the departments of Medicine, Chest and Cardiology, led by Dr Puneet Kumar, is also monitoring the swine flu patients.
Samples of the patients' relatives are now being tested to check whether the infection has spread to others.
Prof Kumar advised patients showing symptoms to take adequate rest and drink sufficient water.
He said patients with high fever, or fever accompanied by body ache that persists for more than three days, should immediately consult a doctor.
He also appealed to people not to take medicine without consulting a doctor properly....
