Teen travels to Indore by mistake while chasing PUBG prize
AGRA, Oct. 6 -- A 14-year-old boy left his Firozabad home to complete a PUBG task that he believed could earn him Rs 1 lakh, which he wanted to give his financially struggling widowed mother. His mother, Poonam Devi, lodged a kidnapping complaint after he failed to return from coaching on Thursday. Police traced and recovered him from a bus in Mathura early Saturday.
Firozabad SP Ravi Shankar Prasad said the boy had planned to travel to Gwalior to complete the task but mistakenly boarded a bus to Indore. Realising his error after reaching Indore on Friday, he took another bus towards Mathura.
Police had put his mobile phone under surveillance after registering a case under Section 137(2) of the BNS. CCTV footage showed him hiring an autorickshaw near Jain temple in Firozabad before leaving for Agra. He had stopped using his own SIM and briefly shared phones with fellow passengers to avoid detection.
His location was traced to Farah in Mathura district after he went online. Police stopped the bus around 4am and brought him back to Firozabad, where he was reunited with his mother....
