Tax grievances dominate, make up 60% of complaints
LUCKNOW, Sept. 12 -- Tax-related grievances dominated the Lucknow Municipal Corporation's Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas on Friday, with residents lodging 89 such complaints, nearly 60% of the 149 complaints received at the civic body's headquarters.
Mayor Sushma Kharkwal heard residents' complaints at the LMC headquarters in Lalbagh and directed officials to resolve them within a fixed timeline.
She also asked officials to ensure that complaints do not remain limited to registration and that departments take effective action on the ground.
Engineering and drainage issues emerged as the second-largest category, with 31 complaints, followed by 22 complaints related to water and sewerage. Residents also submitted three complaints concerning streetlights, two related to horticulture and one each concerning sanitation and the animal department.
Among the eight municipal zones, Zone 6 recorded the highest number of complaints at 31, followed by Zone 1 with 27 and Zone 3 with 23. Zone 8 received 22 complaints.
Additional municipal commissioners Pankaj Srivastava, Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava, Arun Kumar Gupta and Arvind Kumar Rao, along with senior tax officials and zonal officers, attended the programme....
