LUCKNOW, Aug. 27 -- Newly appointed BJP OBC Morcha president and Rajya Sabha MP Amar Pal Maurya on Wednesday urged party workers to take government welfare schemes to the last beneficiary and work to ensure the BJP's victory in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Addressing a felicitation programme here, Maurya said the BJP was not merely a political organisation but was committed to bringing change in the lives of people at the bottom of the social and economic pyramid. He said the Narendra Modi government had taken several steps for the empowerment of OBCs, the poor and other disadvantaged sections. Targeting the Congress and Samajwadi Party, he alleged that the two parties had treated OBCs as a vote bank, while the BJP had provided them dignity, opportunities and participation.
