Take govt's achievementsto people, says Adityanath
Lucknow, July 5 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday asked the BJP's newly appointed state office-bearers and district presidents to aggressively take the achievements of the Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh governments to every household, saying the Opposition's attempts to build a negative narrative would fail if the party maintained continuous dialogue with people ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
Addressing the BJP's first meeting of its newly constituted state team in the presence of national president Nitin Nabin, Yogi said the party's recent victories in West Bengal and Assam reflected the strength of the organisation under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. Referring to the Kundarki bypoll and the Bengal victory, he said effective communication with people helped the BJP overcome political challenges.
"If we take the government's work to every section of society, the Opposition's attempts to spread a negative narrative will fail," he said.
The chief minister said India had undergone a major transformation during the past 12 years under Modi, with improvements in national security, global standing and internal security. He also contrasted Uttar Pradesh before and after 2017, saying the state had moved from an era marked by riots, curfews, mafia rule and insecurity to one known for law and order, investment and development. Yogi said the state had not witnessed a single riot or curfew in the past nine years and highlighted improvements in infrastructure, welfare schemes, employment and farmers' welfare.
Without naming the Opposition, Yogi said parties that could not challenge the government's record on development and welfare were trying to create divisions on caste lines and spread the impression of differences between the BJP and its ideological family. He urged party workers not to be distracted by such issues.
Earlier, state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary welcomed Nitin Nabin and said the national president's visit had infused fresh energy into the organisation.
