Agra, Nov. 5 -- A 27-year-old sub-inspector allegedly died by suicide at his rented house in Aligarh on Wednesday. The SI was suspended two days ago after a video went viral showing him walking in a drunken state. The SSP Aligarh suspended the cop for this act. The deceased cop was unmarried and lived with his father in a rented house in Banna Devi area of Aligarh. According to Aligarh SP Aditya Bansal, information was received on Wednesday morning about the alleged suicide committed by the sub-inspector. "The sub-inspector was basically from Chatarpur in Madhya Pradesh and was deputed here at Police Lines in Aligarh. He lived in Aligarh city along with his father who had gone to a temple at about 8.30 am on Wednesday. The father returned home at about 10 am but found the body of his son hanging in the room of the house," the SP City said. "The field unit reached the spot to gather evidence and SSP Aligarh Neeraj Kumar Jadaun visited the house. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination," the SP said.
