Haridwar, Sept. 23 -- Police are examining footage from over 50 CCTV cameras installed in and around the Haridwar district's Sapt Rishi area as part of the probe into the alleged suicide of Surendra Koli, who was found dead at his rented tea stall, officers said on Tuesday. Investigators are also questioning people who may have interacted with Koli or visited his tea stall to establish the sequence of events leading to his death. They said they were yet to receive the postmortem report. Senior police officers said that no evidence of foul play had surfaced so far. "Neighbouring vendors, traders, ashramites, e-rickshaw and battery-rickshaw drivers, and those who used to come to his tea stall for tea are being questioned as part of the detailed probe," said KS Rana, in-charge of the city police station. Police said the probe was proceeding through multiple channels, including physical verification, questioning of people who knew Koli, examination of CCTV footage and scrutiny of digital information. City police superinten- dent Deepak Singh, who is monitoring the investig- ation, sought details from concerned officers on Tuesday regarding the progress of the probe. As part of the investigation, police have also approached officials and personnel at the SIIDCUL industrial estate, where Koli had worked briefly as a security guard. Police are also gathering information from Koli's home village in Almora's Bhikyasain to establish details of his movements, employment, residence and interactions. "Police in the SIIDCUL area as well as Bhikyasain, Almora, are also constantly being involved to gather and evolve information about deceased Surendra Koli's working, staying and coming into contact with other people. Mobile call data and details of people with whom Koli had interacted recently are also being checked," a police officer said on condition of anonymity....
