Students protest teacher shortage, poor facilities
KANPUR, Aug. 20 -- More than 200 students of Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya residential school in Niyotani under Unnao's Hasanganj tehsil blocked the Mohan-Bangarmau road on Wednesday morning, alleging a shortage of teachers, poor-quality food and inadequate basic facilities.

The protest ended after three hours as officials assured the students that their issues would be addressed. Unnao DM Ghanshyam Meena and SP Jai Prakash Singh later had breakfast with the students and assured them that their problems would be looked into.

The group staged a three-hour protest. Officials spoke to them and assured them their concerns would be addressed....
