Dehradun, April 25 -- The state's Special Task Force (STF) has written to intelligence agencies, seeking call records of a 29-year-old man recently arrested in Dehradun for allegedly harbouring links to known terror operatives in Pakistan, officers aware of the matter said. The accused, Vikrant Kashyap, was arrested on April 10. He reportedly confessed to sharing visuals of key sites in the state capital, including the Inter-State Bus Terminal and the police headquarters, with Pakistani "handlers"- including gangster and ISI operative, Shahzad Bhatti and an associate, Rana, District senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ajai Singh said that the agency was examining whether others were involved in Kashyap's activities. "We have written to intelligence agencies regarding his call details, as his links have been established with individuals across different states," he said. Kashyap worked in truck body fabrication and was staying in Punjab's Nabha for the past two years. Police said an illegal .32 bore pistol, seven live cartridges and a spray paint can were recovered from him. "During interrogation, he revealed that he came in contact with Bhatti after engaging with his social media posts related to Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, wanting to avenge the singer's murder. He later got instructions to conduct reconnaissance of important locations in Dehradun," Singh said. "He was also told that he had to carry out blasts at these locations, and that a person named Gurjar would provide him with explosives, weapons and money," he added. Investigators said Kashyap was also ordered to spray "Tehreek-e-Taliban Hindustan (TTH)" at public places to create fear. "He carried out such acts at multiple locations, including near Selakui, Advani bridge and Jhajra, and shared videos with his handlers," Singh said.
