STF arrests 4 for drug trafficking
Agra, May 29 -- The Special Task Force arrested five, including a woman, from the Sikandra area of Agra, on Wednesday, for smuggling drugs. The STF recovered prohibited drugs Dronabinol and MDMA having a value more than Rs 1 crore in the international market.
In a press statement issued on Thursday from Lucknow, the STF said that those arrested were identified as Jitendra Prajapati, Prem Kumar Prajapati, Bablu Sharma and Nanhi Devi all from Vrindavan town of Mathura district.
The accused had bought illegal drugs from Delhi and were in Sikandra area of Agra. Jitendra revealed that his mother Nanhi Devi was involved in the trade since long and used to bring it from Panipat and Delhi.
He also told the STF that the prohibited drugs seized was bought from California and those involved had links with a man in Thailand. A case has been registered at the Sikandra police station of Agra under relevant sections of NDPS Act....
