LUCKNOW, June 5 -- The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday transferred 206 deputy superintendent of police (DySP)-rank officers, effecting changes across district police units, police commissionerates, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) battalions, intelligence wings and specialised departments. Several officers have been shifted from field postings to commissionerates, while others have been assigned district responsibilities, reflecting a broad reorganisation of the state's middle-rung police leadership. Among the prominent transfers, Jitendra Kumar-II, who was posted in the chief minister's security wing in Lucknow, has been transferred as DySP, Shahjahanpur. Uday Pratap Singh has been moved from Gorakhpur to the Lucknow Police Commissionerate as assistant commissioner of police, while Amit Kumar Pandey has been transferred from PTS Jalaun to the Kanpur Nagar Commissionerate. The reshuffle also covers officers serving in PAC battalions, CID, Local Intelligence Units (LIU), railway police, airport security and specialised investigation units. A number of officers have been posted to districts such as Shahjahanpur, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Meerut, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Rampur, Sitapur, Balrampur and Sambhal, among others. Officials said the transfers are aimed at administrative requirements and strengthening policing arrangements across the state.
