Dehradun, Aug. 20 -- Women in Uttarakhand will be able to travel free of cost on state Transport Corporation buses on August 28 and 29 to mark Raksha Bandhan, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Wednesday. Dhami said the move intended to help women travelling to their parental homes and relatives during the festival. The Transport Corporation has been directed to make necessary arrangements to implement the decision, said a government order. Additional secretary Reena Joshi said that the state government would reimburse the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation for the expenditure incurred on account of providing free travel to women.
