LUCKNOW, Sept. 16 -- The first moments of space travel feel like entering an exam hall-the mind goes blank despite knowing everything, said Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, sharing his journey at Lucknow University on Tuesday. He was speaking at the Gomti Book Festival organised by National Book Trust. He said that enthusiasm and fear co-exist, but mental strength helped him move forward. He compared microgravity life-increased height, floating water droplets, weakening muscles needing daily exercise-to challenges on Earth. At the session 'Dreams flight from earth to space' on the third day of the festival, he launched his book 'The Second Orbit' and Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma congratulated him via video message.
