PRAYAGRAJ, July 28 -- Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday said the the Samajwadi Party (SP) has no moral right to speak on paper leaks or cheating mafia. Speaking to the media here, Maurya alleged that individuals linked to the SP were involved in organised cheating networks in Uttar Pradesh. He said the anti-cheating ordinance introduced during the Kalyan Singh government in the state was later revoked by the SP government. He further alleged that during the Akhilesh Yadav government, recruitment commissions in Prayagraj became centres of corruption. Maurya said the Centre has taken stringent steps following the NEET paper leak controversy. Targeting Akhilesh Yadav, Maurya remarked that while the SP chief now speaks frequently about PDA, he failed to prioritise such concerns during his tenure as chief minister. He also accused the SP of engaging in appeasement politics and shielding criminal elements. Moreover, on the second day of his three-day visit to Prayagraj, he met BJP workers at the Circuit House.
