LUCKNOW, May 26 -- In a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party, Rajeshwar Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Sarojininagar, on Monday said the opposition party has already conceded defeat even before the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls. Reacting to recent statements and tweets by Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders, Singh said the party is now more concerned about protecting family interests, ticket distribution, and political survival than addressing people's issues. "In a healthy democracy, every elected MP and MLA has a primary duty to take the problems, grievances and aspirations of their constituents to the government," he added. Singh described the SP as a family-run private limited company. He said in recent years, several lawmakers, leaders, and workers left the Samajwadi Party to join the BJP. The MLA praised the current government, saying that mafia elements are now either in jail or have fled the state, while investors are bringing record investments to Uttar Pradesh. He expressed confidence that just as the people of the state rejected the SP's misrule, corruption, and mafia raj in 2017 and 2022, they would do the same in 2027....
