Son shoots father dead, critically injures wife in Bulandshahr
Meerut, May 25 -- In Bulandshahr district, a man allegedly shot dead his father and critically injured his wife in a village under the Khurja Kotwali police station limits on Sunday afternoon. Police suspect that the crime may be linked to an alleged illicit relationship, though investigations are still underway.
The incident took place in Kalandargarhi village, where the accused allegedly opened fire on his 50-year-old father, Riyazuddin, killing him on the spot. He then allegedly turned the weapon on his wife, Sana, leaving her critically injured.
The brutal attack triggered panic and fear among villagers, with residents gathering at the scene soon after the gunshots were heard.
According to police officials, the accused took the extreme step following a domestic dispute or personal tension within the family. Upon receiving information about the firing, local police teams rushed to the village and shifted the injured woman to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Her condition is said to be serious.
Police took Riyazuddin's body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination while launching a detailed probe into the incident.
Circle Officer Shobhit Kumar said preliminary investigation suggests the matter could be linked to an alleged illicit relationship.
"Prima facie, an illicit relationship angle has emerged. The man allegedly murdered his father and carried out a murderous attack on his wife. All aspects of the case are being investigated thoroughly," the officer said.
Police are now questioning family members and villagers to establish the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the double shooting.
