Smart DL services: Seven FIRs filed over alleged job-for-money racket
Lucknow, Sept. 2 -- Seven FIRs have been registered in Lucknow following allegations that employees associated with two private firms handling smart DL related services in UP collected money from job seekers on the promise of employment.
The police action followed a complaint raised by Rae Bareli resident Anuj Kumar during the chief minister's public grievance hearing on Monday. The allegations are now being investigated.
The FIRs name individuals associated with two private DL-making companies (Silver Touch and Fo-Com Net). Those named include Shyam Mohan Agnihotri, Prem Prakash Singh, Dushyant Singh and Ankit Chaudhary of Silver Touch, and Shesh Nath Pandey and Anoop Trivedi of Fo-Com Net.
Wazirganj police station in-charge Rajesh Tripathi said six applications had been received in connection with the allegations. "Six cases have been registered. Six FIRs are from Lucknow, while one has been registered as a zero FIR. The matter is under investigation." He added that FIRs have been registered under Section 318 of BNS (offence of cheating)".
Several employees, including Dharmveer, Akhilesh Kumar, Janmejay, Munesh Kumar, Ajay Kumar and Abhinav Kumar, have alleged that substantial amounts were collected from employees after assuring them jobs. They further claimed that some employees were subsequently removed despite having paid the money.
Transport commissioner Ashutosh Niranjan said the FIRs had been lodged by individuals and the matter is now with the police. "The FIRs have been lodged by individuals. The matter is under police investigation. The department will take action only after the findings of the police investigation are available," he said.The issue had first been raised before the chief minister on July 6. Following the complaint, transport commissioner Ashutosh Niranjan constituted an inquiry committee and asked it to submit its report within 15 days. The complainants later alleged that no substantial action was taken against the firms despite the inquiry being ordered....
