Six arrested for stone-pelting at MEMU train
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 31 -- The Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Rambagh on Sunday arrested six persons, including two minors, for allegedly pelting stones at a MEMU train near Ahimanpur Halt on the Prayagraj-Varanasi route.
The two minors were produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), while the remaining four accused were presented before a court in Varanasi.
According to RPF officials, the incident occurred on August 28 when MEMU train No. 65113 was passing near Ahimanpur Halt.
A group of youths allegedly hurled stones at the moving train. A video of the incident surfaced on social media and went viral, prompting the RPF to register a case and launch an investigation. The RPF conducted raids and arrested Krishna Kumar alias Krishna Yadav, Abhishek Prajapati, Adarsh Kumar Prajapati and Aditya Gupta, along with two minors.
The arrests were made by a team led by Rambagh Station House Officer (SHO) Daya Shankar Yadav.
According to the complaint, the accused had allegedly thrown paper at a woman passenger. When she objected, they reportedly began pelting stones at the train....
