LUCKNOW, Sept. 2 -- With a view to taking the BJP government's development narrative directly to the grassroots, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed officials to turn the proposed 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' into a mass public-participation campaign, reaching beyond district headquarters and development blocks to Nyaya Panchayats and Gram Panchayats. The month-long campaign, scheduled from September 17 to October 17, will seek to showcase Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25-year journey in public life and the achievements of the Centre and UP governments through 13 programmes, while linking them to the 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision. At a meeting to finalise the campaign strategy, Adityanath cautioned officials against turning it into a mere exercise in listing government schemes and figures. Instead, he asked them to put beneficiaries at the centre of the campaign by documenting "real stories" of how government schemes and development projects had changed people's lives. "The reach of the campaign should not remain limited to district headquarters and development blocks. Special efforts should be made to take it to Nyaya Panchayat and Gram Panchayat levels," he said. The campaign will begin on Modi's birthday on September 17 with 'Aashirwad Ka Diya', under which beneficiary families will light lamps at their homes. Artificial limbs and assistive devices will also be distributed to persons with disabilities. Among the other programmes are 'Namo Seva Gatha', 'Kahani Badlav Ki', 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra', 'Seva Jyoti Yatra', 'Seva Mera Yogdan', 'Seva Setu Abhiyan' and the 'Rashtriya Innovation Challenge'. A 'Janseva Mahakumbh' involving around 1.25 lakh public representatives from Panchayat to Parliament is planned on October 17. The CM ordered officials to prepare a permanent, fact-based database of development works, welfare schemes and beneficiaries, extending down to Gram Panchayat level. The database will also document projects such as expressways, airports, metro networks, medical colleges, universities, religious and cultural redevelopment projects and ODOP success stories. Under the 'Seva Setu Abhiyan-Sarkar Aapke Dwar', seven-day service camps will be organised at development blocks to identify eligible people who have not received benefits and facilitate applications, verification and approvals at a single location.
