LUCKNOW, Sept. 7 -- The Shamli police will move the district court on Monday seeking the custodial remand of Rakesh alias Pampu and Rohit, currently lodged in Karnal and Tihar jails respectively, as investigators seek to unravel their alleged role in planning the murder of Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan, a senior police officer said. He said the police have completed the paperwork for seeking the duo's remand and want to question them primarily about the murder's planning, weapons procurement and supply, and their alleged communication with the shooters who executed the attack. "The documents for seeking their remand have been completed and the applications will be filed before the court on Monday. Their custodial interrogation is important to establish how the murder was planned, how weapons and money were arranged and how they remained in contact with the shooters," another senior police officer privy to the investigation confirmed. According to investigators, Pampu and Rohit have emerged as alleged key local links in the conspiracy. Police suspect the murder was planned at the behest of alleged Gogi gang members Bholu Shahpuria, Chirag and Monty, who are believed to be operating from abroad. Investigators suspect the two jailed men used their network to coordinate with the shooters and facilitate the resources required for the killing. Police are now trying to establish the exact nature of their communication with the attackers and whether they were directly involved in coordinating the murder plan's execution. The interrogation is expected to focus on who arranged the weapons, where they were sourced from, how they reached the shooters, who provided the money and how instructions were passed on to the attackers. Police are also examining the communication trail between the jailed accused and the four shooters. Two of the suspected shooters, Mohit and Sumit, have been killed in police encounters, while Satyam and Aryan remain absconding....
