Seva Sankalp Abhiyan gets going across UP
LUCKNOW, Sept. 18 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party launched a month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' across Uttar Pradesh on Thursday to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 76th birthday, with the day being observed as a festival of service, dedication and public welfare.
The party organised service and public outreach programmes across districts, mandals and booths, with participation from public representatives, office-bearers, workers and members of the public.
As part of the campaign, Yuva Morcha workers organised blood donation camps and distributed fruits across the state. In the evening, party workers and citizens lit 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' at booths, praying for the Prime Minister's healthy and long life.
BJP national general secretary and UP in-charge Vinod Tawde lit a diya at Sahjanwa in Gorakhpur. BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary lit a diya at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi. At the state BJP headquarters in Lucknow, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with BJP general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh, lit diyas.
