Sambhal clears encroachments from govt land amid tight security
MEERUT, June 7 -- The Sambhal district administration on Saturday stepped up its drive against encroachments by carrying out a fresh bulldozer operation in Kaserua village to clear unauthorised structures and reclaim government land. The action was carried out under stringent security measures, with a heavy deployment of police personnel to maintain law and order.
Revenue and administrative officials, supported by a large contingent of police, cleared encroachments from government land. Officials said comprehensive security arrangements were made to ensure the operation was conducted smoothly and without any law-and-order disturbances.
The latest operation follows the demolition of a mazar allegedly built on government land in Baghau village under the Babrala police station area. Officials said the demolition was carried out in compliance with an order issued by the district magistrate's court following legal proceedings .
According to the administration, a revenue department survey confirmed that the shrine stood on government-owned land. Sambhal superintendent of police Krishan Kumar Bishnoi said the state government had directed officials to remove encroachments from public land....
