Sambhal admn demolishes Mazaar on alleged encroached land
Meerut, June 6 -- A Mazaar in Sambhal district was demolished by the administration on Friday after authorities said it had been illegally constructed on government land.
The action was carried out with bulldozers amid heavy police deployment.
The demolished religious structure, known as "Khere Wale Baba Chaman Shah Baba Dargah Sharif Mazar," was located in Baghau village under the Gunnor police station area, approximately 29 kilometres from the district headquarters. The shrine stood within the catchment area of the Mahawa river.
According to officials, a team comprising revenue and police personnel arrived at the site with two bulldozers on Friday morning and completed the demolition within an hour. District magistrate Ankit Khandelwal and superintendent of police Krishan Kumar Bishnoi were present during the operation. Around 70 personnel, including members of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), were deployed to maintain law and order.
