Salaries of 9 officials withheld for absence from Samadhan Diwas
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 4 -- Divisional commissioner Lokesh M has ordered the salaries of nine departmental officials to be withheld following their absence during a surprise inspection of the Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas at Chail tehsil in Kaushambi on Saturday.
Accompanied by additional commissioner Tribhuvan and other officials, the commissioner interacted with complainants and directed staff to ensure the timely and effective disposal of their grievances. Viewing the absenteeism seriously, the commissioner ordered the salaries of the absent officers to be withheld pending satisfactory explanations.
Those found absent included the district development officer, the project director, the deputy director (agriculture), the district cane officer, the district backward classes welfare officer and the district minority welfare officer, among others.
The commissioner emphasised that Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas is a key government initiative, and the attendance of officials from all relevant departments is mandatory to ensure effective grievance redressal.
During the inspection, the commissioner reviewed registers detailing complaints from previous events. Noting irregularities and incomplete entries, he ordered an adverse entry against the Naib Nazir for negligence in recording complaints, updating registers, and maintaining official records.
He also ordered an adverse entry against the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of Chail, citing failures in the timely disposal of matters concerning Gram Sabha land, poor register maintenance, and inadequate supervision of sanitation arrangements in the local urban body.
A total of 83 complaints were received during the Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas, six of which were resolved on the spot.
Later, the divisional commissioner inspected the Community Health Center (CHC) at Sarai Akil, which is currently being upgraded to a "Model CHC." He reviewed healthcare services and found most arrangements satisfactory....
