MEERUT, May 22 -- The crackdown on gangster Udham Singh intensified after Deputy inspector general of police (DIG) Kalanidhi Naithani announced a reward of Rs.50,000 on the absconding criminal, who is listed in the Government of Uttar Pradesh mafia register.
The reward was declared following a recommendation by senior superintendent of police (SSP) Avinash Pandey. Earlier this week, police had increased the bounty on the gangster from Rs.25,000 as part of an expanded search operation.
Police and the Special Task Force (STF) are conducting raids across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Delhi to trace the D-50 gang leader, who is accused of securing bail through forged documents, including a fake Aadhaar card, after spending more than four years in prison.
